Access :

From Munich (downtown)

• public transport from Munich downtown :
  
  • take subway U6 direction Garching-Forschungszentrum (about 25 min)
    
• by car :
  • take Autobahn Munich direction Nürnberg or Airport,
  • leave at exit "Garching Nord",
  • follow signs "Forschungsgelände" and signs to institutes (MPE : Entry IPP gate).
  • have a look at the street map

From Munich Airport

• public transport :
  • take S-Bahn S8 direction Nannhofen (Munich)
    (runs every 20 minutes)
  • leave at third stop : Ismaning
  • take Bus no. 230 to Garching, Technische Universität
    (runs every 20-40 minutes most of the day (Mo.-Fr.))
  • exit Forschungszentrum (about 17 min; close to IPP gate)
  • have a look at the street map
  On weekends / holidays / evening stay in the S-Bahn until downtown Marienplatz and then use the U-Bahn U6 (see above).
